How to hard-reset Your Nokia phone?

Also known as[edit]

  • hardreset nokia phones
  • phone factory reset
  • master reset

Notes[edit]

  • Important!: All user data (phonebook, SMS, gallery, applications, settings...) will be erased from phone!
  • On new Nokias, Nokia Maps, Social Network, Ovi store... applications will be erased from phone. Those software could only be reinstalled using Phoenix service software only!
  • Hard reset may repair symbian Nokia phones which doesn't turn on (caused by installed application)

Reset procedure[edit]

Nokia Lumia 800[edit]

  1. Turn off phone
  2. Press and hold the "volume down", "power" and "camera" buttons.
  3. When the phone vibrates release the "power button".
  4. Hold the "volume down" and "camera" buttons for more 5 secs then release them.
  5. Phone will reset and turn on.

Go to Settings > About > Reset Your phone (lock code will be asked)

Nokia C7-00 N8[edit]

Tested on Nokia C7-00 and Nokia N8.

  1. Turn off phone.
  2. While holding "Home button", "Camera button", "Volume down button" at the same time, power on the phone.
  3. When the phone vibates, release the "Power button", but keep holding the other three.
  4. When You hear the Nokia sound, release the other buttons.
  5. Phone will be reseted.

Nokia 6600[edit]

Tested on Nokia 6600.

  1. Turn off phone.
  2. While holding "Green", "3" and "*" at the same time, press and hold power on button.
  3. Phone will turn on, and after a while "Formatting..." will appear on screen. Now You can release the buttons.
  4. Wait till it finish.
  5. Phone will be reseted.

Nokia touchscreen[edit]

Tested on ...

  1. Turn off phone.
  2. While holding "Red button", "Green button", "Camera button" at the same time, power on the phone.
  3. When the phone vibates, release the "Power button", but keep holding the other three.
  4. When You hear the Nokia sound, release the other buttons.
  5. Phone will be reseted.

Nokia N97[edit]

  1. Turn off phone.
  2. While holding "Left shift", "Space", "Backspace" at the same time, press and hold the power button.
  3. Keep holding the buttons till phone asks for the country.
  4. Phone will be reseted.
