Hi all ... I'm brand new here on CPKB and I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Michael and I'm from New Zealand. My phones are always Nokia ... Right now I have the Nokia E52 (in black) with 16Gb microSD (class 10).

Anyway, what I wanted to share with you relates to the memory cards for our devices. There are many types of card available out there, and it can be quite daunting when it comes to buying the RIGHT one! Cheap brands are NO good, as they will soon break down, causing big headaches AND corrupting our data.

In my quest to buy just the right memory cards for my phones over the years, I've always spent a few extra $ to get a GOOD brand from a reputable dealer.

Speed is another important factor. Most of the factory Nokia phones I've had came with standard Class 2 memory cards, meaning it is designed to write to the card at 2 Mb/s (megabytes per second). Usually this is an acceptable speed if you're only using your memory card to store & play music. If however, you want to record video straight to your memory card, then this is too slow.

Class 6 or Class 10 memory cards cost a little more but are worth it long term. And be sure to check your device's user manual to see which is the correct TYPE of memory for it. Nothing worse than buying the wrong sort, and it doesn't work!
